The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Rowing Challenge is the premier event in ocean rowing, starting from San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands to Nelson’s Dockyard English Harbour, Antigua & Barbuda. The annual race begins in December with up to 30 teams from around the world taking part. The size of the challenge is enormous, with fewer people having completed the challenge than those who have climbed Mount Everest.
The team of four friends, Joe, Jess, Lauren and Jessica, are a British Rowing team but live an ocean apart from each other. Joe lives in Dublin, Jessica in Vancouver, Lauren lives in London and Jess in Nuremburg.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Lauren added, “We’ve decided to come together and push ourselves for charities we all believe in. We will push ourselves to our limits, train like athletes and hope we can inspire others to follow their dreams – anything is possible with hard work and determination.”
The team at the A. Proctor Group extend best wishes and support to all of the courageous crews participating in this incredible challenge.
