Beyond Traditional Insulation Uses

Spacetherm Aerogel has established itself across diverse industries and applications beyond conventional building insulation. It has been used in thermal clothing designed for extreme environments, such as expeditions to the North Pole. The material is also employed in high-performance components for Formula 1 racing, as well as in space applications to insulate cubes in orbiting satellites. In the Oil and Gas sector, it is utilized for pipework and equipment, while in railways, it provides insulation for heating elements. The marine industry leverages Spacetherm on super yachts, and it is also suitable for motorhomes and caravans. Its thermal insulating properties enhance the efficiency of radiators and are used in heating and cooling systems to improve overall thermal performance. Additionally, it plays a role in fireplaces and fire stopping systems. Recently, we introduced our A1 non-combustible version of Spacetherm, expanding its use into applications that require fire resistance and safety.

The Thinnest Insulation in the UK

In the video Architect Niall Hedderman of Real Life Architecture explains the benefits of using Spacetherm®, ultra-thin aerogel insulation, for UK homes. The video, compares Spacetherm® to traditional insulation like PIR and Mineral Wool, highlighting its technical advantages and cost benefits as well as the

Its cost-effectiveness and value offering practical insights into how Spacetherm® can improve thermal performance without adding bulk.
